## Definition:

In a fraction, the denominator represents total number of parts been divided and the numerator represents how many of those parts we deal with.

**For Example:** In this fraction 3/4, 3 ( the numerator) denotes the number of parts you have. and 4 (the denominator) denotes the number of parts the whole is divided into.

### Types of Fraction:

**Proper fraction:**

In this type of fraction numerator will be less than the denominator.

**For example:** 1/2, 3/5

**Improper fraction:**

In this type of fraction numerator will be greater than or equal to the denominator.

**For example:** 5/5,7/2

**Mixed Fraction:**

In this type of fraction you have whole number plus a fraction.

**For example: **2 5/3
